London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 Pt 4 Romance - Erdem, Charles Anastase, Kinder Aggugini & Clements Ribeiro

Erdem

At first glance I did not find Erdem's most recent collection as stunning as previous seasons, but on closer inspection I loved it more and more. Weird fabrics, dissolving tweeds, random patches of sequins, and fabulously collaged colors with a dark palette which flared into flagrant reds and oranges, the impressionistic painterly prints suggested a moody Monet's Water Lilies. Some prints reminded me of Dries Van Noten's FW'10 collection, which I absolutely loved. How stunning is the printed trench coat in the second row? The Mad Men–era “controlled silhouette” was slightly more form fitting than last season, with a nipped in waist and thigh skimming slits. Fitted shift dresses and matching accessories were shown alongside bias-cut gowns, and a slouchy sweater was worn over a shirt and side-split skirt.

Kinder Aggugini

I absolutely adored the outerwear at Kinder Aggugini, from the dip-dye to kimono-inspired, with brilliant laser cuts to contrasting linings:

Clements Ribeiro

Loved the ombré effect and melding of prints at this Brazilian/English duo's collection, imparting a magical quality to the clothes:
